Cats, so different than dogs. Are they here to entertain us? Or do we entertain them?

Cats are beautiful and we admire them. Their grace and fragility appeal to us. Their fragility is but a mirage for they are not fragile and can survive without us but choose, instead, to be with us.  When my cat sits next to me and purrs his love in half closed eyes with the most secret of thoughts, I wonder what he thinks of me? All I have to do is watch as he rubs his head on my leg to know that I am his, and here I thought I owned him! When my cat leaves the room all these wonderful feelings go with him.

CAT PORTRAITS 

Whether your cat is sitting on your lap or sunbathing in a different room, you can enjoy him all the time through a cat portrait.

 As an artist, I can capture the texture of his coat, the brightness of his eyes, and even some of his individual personality traits through my thoughtfully created cat portraits. I take the time to evaluate the cat, study his look, try to get a “feel” for his personality - all this before I even start my portrait.  Each portrait is as individual as your cat. 

I have many satisfied clients over the years, many of which are returning clients.  Over the many years I have been paintings pet portraits, I have created portraits of cats, dogs, bunnies, horses, people, celebrities - almost any living creature. I will always remember my two Siamese cats, Mimi and Monday (The Mama’s and the Papa’s) While I live with two dogs, I feel a special closeness to the cats I have had in my life and the ones I paint everyday. I like to think that when I paint cats, my feline (I’m a Leo) senses come to life.

Why are cats so exciting to paint/ They have mystery in their eyes, aloofness in their manner, warmth and coolness in their attitudes - what a very complex creature.
